NCIS: New Orleans Showrunner Exits After of Misconduct Investigation

There are changes at the wheel for NCIS: New Orleans as the procedural drama heads into Season 5. According to Deadline, showrunner, Brad Kern is departing as both executive producer and showrunner. While he is giving up two important roles, he will remain as a consultant for the foreseeable future. Chris Silber will replace him. The news comes as little surprise when you consider that there have been two internal investigations conducted by CBS TV Studios into Kern's behavior on the show. It was said that Kern was making the series a hostile environment to work in and complaints from co-workers paved the way for the studio to look into the claims. Related: CBS Fall Schedule: Which Show is Replacing Scorpion? “We were aware of these allegations when they took place in 2016, and took them very seriously,” the studio said in a statement last December when the news broke about the investigations. “Both complaints were acted upon immediately with investigations and subsequent disciplinary action." "While we were not able to corroborate all of the allegations, we took this action to address behavior and management style, and have received no further complaints since this was implemented.” In the aftermath of the claims and investigation, Kern was assigned and underwent sensitivity training and counseling, and there were no other reports of bad behavior lodged against him. NCIS: New Orleans Season 4 wrapped earlier this week, and the show is expected to return in September. CBS has revealed the show will maintain its Tuesday at 10/9c timeslot in the fall. The CW Boss: This Is Why We Passed on Wayward Sisters!

The CW shocked many when it announced last week that the Supernatural spinoff, Wayward Sisters had not landed a series order at the network. The potential drama aired as a backdoor pilot of Supernatural earlier this year and received a positive response from viewers. As such it was widely expected to get a series order, but The CW boss Mark Pedowitz has confirmed he was skeptical of the series' chance at being a success story. “We had really great material this year,” he said on a conference call with reporters on Thursday morning. “We’re really excited about the five series we did pick up. We are big fans of the characters and the women who played the characters in the series, but we did not feel creatively the show is where we wanted it to be. We felt we had a better shot with Legacies.” Related: The Originals Spinoff Ordered to Series at The CW! He went on to say that CW execs are “big fans” of the Wayward Sisters actresses “and hope they continue on…guest starring on Supernatural.” But, the network “did not feel [Wayward] was there it needed to be to go forward with it this year.” Wayward Sisters co-writer Andrew Dabb confirmed via Twitter the series was not going ahead. "It breaks my heart to say this, but CW has chosen to pass on Wayward Sisters," he said. " We love these characters, and have spent almost two years trying to make this show a reality on the network... but there are some fights, sometimes, you can't win." Related: The CW Fall Schedule: What's on the Move? "I want to thank everyone involved in this entire process, from our fantastic crew to our amazing cast, and, most of all you," he continued. "Your passion for this idea fueled us, and we wanted so much to make this happen for you. I'm so sorry we couldn't." "But know that these characters will live on. We owe them, and you, and us that. Thank you," he concluded. What do you think of this news? Hit the comments below. View Slideshow: Supernatural Photos for "Wayward Sisters"

Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend & iZombie: Ending Next Season!

The CW is saying goodbye to three of its beloved series during the 2018-2019 season. The network confirmed early Thursday that Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie are all returning for final seasons. Jane the Virgin will be ending after Season 5, and an episode order has yet to be confirmed. Jane the Virgin Season 4 took a hit in the ratings slipping 30 percent in the demo. It ultimately averaged 0.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49. However, the ratings are not said to be the issue with the show. Series star, Gina Rodriguez hinted back in March that the show would be returning for one more season. Related: The CW Fall Schedule: What's on the Move? Meanwhile, fellow Friday drama, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend landed a spot on the fall schedule, and is expected to conclude for good before Jane returns to the air in 2019. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3 was actually up in the ratings year to year. It averaged 0.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating. Like Jane the Virgin, CEG helped The CW be recognized in major award categories. As for iZombie, the Rose McIver fronted drama's fate has been up in the air since it returned in February. iZombie Season 4 is averaging 0.8 million viewers and a 0.3 rating. This is down almost 20 percent year-to-year. The CW has become known for giving short final seasons to longer-running series, so it was widely expected to return in some capacity. Related: iZombie Renewed for Season 5 at The CW! In addition to the above three shows, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, Riverdale, Black Lightning, Supergirl, The Flash, The 100 will all be back. Meanwhile, In the Dark, All American, Legacies, Charmed and All American are the five new series picked up by the network. What do you think of these final season announcements? Hit the comments! Supergirl Round Table: A Matter of Trust

Supergirl and Lena found themselves at odds on Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18, which unknowingly to Lena, could lead to a rift in her friendship with Kara. Below, TV Fanatics Christine Orlando, Jay Ruymann, and Kathleen Wiedel debate whether that friendship can be repaired, Mon-El's looming decision, and Coville's part in all of this. Join us! Are you worried about Kara's friendship with Lena and James? Do you think Supergirl will regain Lena's trust? Christine: Kara has always been the hero among her friends, so hearing what Lena really thought of her, and that James lied to her, was absolutely shocking. I love this twist. It’s easy for Supergirl to become self-righteous and maybe she needs someone like Lena to keep that in check. I think they will all find their way back to one another, but there will, and should, be some difficult character growth along the way. Jay: I think Kara’s friendship with James will forever be different, but I don’t see any new difference between Kara and Lena. These episodes have created a rift in between the two that won’t be fixable, so I don’t see Lena and Kara being friends if there’s a Supergirl reveal to her. Related: Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18 Review: Shelter From the Storm Kathleen: Lena and James have very different ideas from Kara about what's happening, and while that's the nominal cause of the rift between them, it speaks to much deeper issues. Kara really struggles with something of a superiority complex sometimes; there's nothing wrong with being confident in your decisions, but always being convinced of your own moral superiority on all occasions simply cannot work. Just because you're a hero and have good intentions doesn't mean you're always right. Watch Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18 Online Did you find yourself siding more with Kara or Lena on the Kryptonite debate? Christine: I completely sided with Lena. We humans have a multitude of things that can kill us, and yet we deal with them. There is literally one thing that can kill Supergirl, and she wants it eliminated. From a survival perspective, I can understand that, but it’s short-sighted. Kryptonite has proven extremely useful in the fight against evil. It should certainly be regulated and controlled, but not completely destroyed. Related: Get Comic Con HQ via Prime Video Channels to Stream Original Series, Past Comic Con Panels, & More! Jay: Agreed, Lena is in the right. Kryptonite is the one substance that can hurt Kara, Clark, and the Worldkillers, and where was this outrage when Kara discovered the DEO had a stash of it for protection against Superman if the day ever came? Kathleen: Let's make it a unanimous three, then, because I agree with both of you. The protagonists have already had to deal with hostile Kryptonians (including Kara and her cousin on different occasions). What if Kara or Clark or J'onn weren't there to save the day? Hu..

The CW Fall Schedule: What’s on the Move?

The CW is the final major broadcast network to unveil its fall 2018 schedule, and there are some big changes. As previously reported the network will be programming Sunday nights, and the highly anticipated Charmed reboot has landed the 9/8c slot on the night. It will lead out of Supergirl, which is moving from Monday nights. Charmed is probably The CW's only chance at bringing some viewers to the night. Meanwhile, Mondays will consist of DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow. Arrow is making a move from Thursdays to the night, and I'm not so sure it's going to be able to compete. Tuesdays will stable, with The Flash and Black Lightning. Both shows performed decently together in early 2018, so it makes sense to keep them together. Related: iZombie Renewed for Season 5 at The CW! Riverdale will remain on Wednesdays at 8/7c and will be paired with the highly compatible All American. The big question will be whether Riverdale can get another bump in linear viewing when it returns in the fall. The biggest shocker of the schedule is that The Originals spinoff Legacies is debuting in the fall. The new drama fronted by Matt Davis and Danielle Rose Russell will premiere out of Supernatural. Related: The Originals Spinoff Officially Ordered to Series at The CW! On Friday nights, Dynasty and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will air together, and it's unsurprising considering both shows have been struggling in the ratings. All told have a look at the full schedule below. MONDAY 8 pm DC’s Legends of Tomorrow 9 pm Arrow (new time slot) TUESDAY 8 pm The Flash 9 pm Black Lightning WEDNESDAY 8 pm Riverdale 9 pm ALL AMERICAN THURSDAY 8 pm Supernatural 9 pm LEGACIES FRIDAY 8 pm Dynasty 9 pm Crazy Ex-Girlfriend SUNDAY 8 pm Supergirl (new time slot) 9 pm CHARMED As usual, The 100 and iZombie will launch at midseason, while Jane the Virgin has for the first time missed out on a slot on the fall schedule. New series Roswell: New Mexico and In the Dark have also been held for midseason, which means there are likely to be a lot of short orders on The CW schedule. Okay, TV Fanatics!
