Buffy the Vampire Slayer Rewatch: Revelations

Let's get this right up front: Buffy was addicted to Angel's love. The mere presence of basking in the passion of her toxic ex might've made her feel whole, but it nearly destroyed the life around here. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 was her hour of intervention. She lied, she made excuses, and she risked it all to spend quality time with her brooding vampire ex. In fact, this moment is what started the breakup of the Faith/Buffy friendship. But, would you have done the same? Let's figure that out by rewatching "Revelations." Going into Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 7, Buffy and Faith had a great friendship. Similar to her relationship with Kendra, Faith was the only person in the world who could relate to Buffy's struggles. Both of them were slayers with the weight of the world on their shoulders. Something like that would bond them forever. And, if you take into account the awkwardness that originally started during Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 3, the pair came a VERY long way. Both slayers were hitting, punching, and kicking in unison. Had it not been for the deterioration of their friendship, they could've been a force to be reckoned with. "Revelations" gave us the early cracks into their fostering friendship. All caused by the devious Gwendolyn Post. Gwendolyn Post suffered the same fate as a lot of one-off villains on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She had all the potential in the world to be an ongoing force, but she got eliminated too soon before her true power was felt. Ever since the original airing of "Revelations," I've stood behind the position that Gwendolyn was underutilized by keeping her to a one-episode appearance. If we had been introduced to her a few chapters prior, we could've explored her character more, and the budding working relationship between her and Faith. Her purpose in the hour focused on serving as Faith's watcher; she presented herself as the Giles figure who wanted to be there for her. Instead, we only were treated to the early incarnations of it. Gwendolyn's betrayal to the Scoobies, and the betrayal of Faith, would've had more of an impact if her appearances had lasted a few more episodes than one. This depressing realization also works because of how witty the character was with the other Scoobies, especially with a counterpart like Giles. You could tell that Giles loathed Gwendolyn! If there was a high school archetype that fit her character, she would be the Type-A class president. Nothing seemed good enough to her, she acted like she was above it all, and that she had every answer long before any of the Scoobies caught up. She verged on prim, proper, and smug. But, all of those qualities together created a clever villain who loved manipulating people. As wel..

The Originals Star Reacts to *Spoiler’s* Fate

The body count continued to rise on The Originals Season 5 Episode 10, and one of the stars has opened up about saying goodbye to their character. Beware, because the following article is filled with spoilers from "There In the Disappearing Light." Steven Krueger, who plays Josh took to Twitter shortly after his final episode on The CW drama aired to share the following statement: Two weeks before I auditioned for #TheOriginals I lost out on a major role on a network show that I was certain was mine. For days I was convinced I'd never work again as an actor. And then Josh randomly stumbled into my life, as he did to most everyone's over the next 5 years. Thank you to @julieplec and ALL of our writers for telling Josh's story so perfectly. To my castmates and our crew for making me feel like family from day one. And of course, to all of you who have taken this journey with us. You're the reason we get to do this. Related: The Originals Season 5 Episode 10 Review: There In The Disappearing Light P.S. I haven't been able to watch last night's ep yet but a special shout to @possiblyawitch, @JeffLieber and @danieljgillies for such a beautiful send off. And as always to @cadlymack for being Josh's biggest fan (and my own personal go tobff). Josh's demise will go down as one of the most shocking deaths in the history of the series. Being the great friend he's been since he first appeared in New Orleans, Josh went on a mission to save Marcel from Emmett and the other Nazi vampires. Once at the abandoned warehouse Marcel was being held at, Josh was cornered by a band of villains, but he and Marcel managed to fight them all off. In a heartbreaking scene, we learned that Marcel's venom was injected into Josh and he died a mere few scenes later. Earlier in the hour, Josh was talking to a man in a bar about his fallen ex-boyfriend, Aiden, who died way back on The Originals Season 2. Related: The Originals: Ending After Season 5! In a beautiful final scene together, we got to see the pair reunite in the afterlife in a similar fashion to how much of the characters found happiness on the series finale of The Vampire Diaries. Josh's death comes mere weeks after original series regular Phoebe Tonkin's character, Hayley Marshall was written out in a tragic scene that involved her sacrificing herself to save her daughter. The latter was spoiled months before the series returned, but Josh's death was kept well under wraps. What are your thoughts on this, The Originals Fanatics? Hit the comments below. 5 Science Channel Shows You Must Watch to Be the Most Engaging Party Guest

There was a time, back in the olden days, when people thought watching TV would make you stupid. Being a "couch potato" would rot your brain and be a big, fat potato head. That was before we knew to stretch and move while watching and before there were just as many educational networks available as entertainment. Now, educational programming is entertaining, and as I've watched these five Science Channel shows, I've discovered during casual conversation I can talk more intelligently with people about so much I thought it would be rude not to share. Today, and today only, this secret is free. FREE!! Soon, you are going to be talking with nerds of all levels from entertainment, to fans of mysteries and crimes, to lovers of astronomy, and ancient history, and so much more. You're going to be doing it with authority. You're welcome. Let's have some fun. Related: Get True Crime Files by ID via Prime Video Channels for Over 1,000 Real-life Mystery & Suspense Shows! You would have known it already if you'd watched Strange Evidence. What else are you missing? How about understanding Coronal Discharge? It's one of many possibilities explored when professionals visited a small town on Strange Evidence to see what might be causing the strange lights that have appeared in the sky above a small town for over 20 years. When it's not quite as easy as formulating one conclusion to wipe away the belief that witnesses are seeing an otherworldly or supernatural phenomenon, they try several other ideas to test theories using car headlights and more. Every episode is filled with several of these cases so you learn at least one thing pertinent to your life that will make your conversations more scintillating. One of my favorites is Mysteries of the Abandoned, a show focusing on abandoned marvels from across the world. There are fascinating stories about abandoned communist prisons, huge bridges with useless mooring to the ground. At the center of the mystery lies the U.S. and one of our biggest "enemies" to date. Related: Explore Hundreds of Hours of Curated Historical Videos with History Vault via Prime Video Channels! American Woman Interview: Jennifer Bartels on Diana’s Journey, ’70’s Fashion & More!

Paramount Network has been slowly rolling out their original programming, and a part of that initiative includes American Woman, a 30-minute comedy based loosely on the childhood of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Star, Kyle Richards. Starring Alycia Silverstone, Mena Suvari, and Jennifer Bartels, the show takes a look at women from the 1970s and the issues they dealt with including their sense of self and agency in relationships, employment, parenting, and many other areas. Bartels stars as Diana, a kind and struggling junior loan officer who lives with her mother, takes pride in her work but finds it difficult to be proud of her job while living alongside the rich and famous, and hopes to find love even as she continues proving to herself she's just as exciting as all of her peers. We had the opportunity to chat with Jennifer by telephone recently and discovered she's just as charming as Diana. We covered topic ranging from appearing on a start-up network to wearing vintage 1970's fashions. I hope you enjoy excerpts from the discussion, below. What's it like launching on a new network? Do you feel like you're receiving enough support and promotion and people are finding their way to the show? Yeah, so I think the show is doing good, and it's just really nice that it's like settling in because it's so hard launching a new network, having a new show that's a period piece and I feel like it's finding its voice. It's gaining a nice allegiance of solid followers. It's a really nice feeling. It was first meant for TV Land, right? I mean, that's like public knowledge. Then we were shifted over to Paramount Network, and I've done ... I wrote, produced and starred in a show called, Friends of the People, and it was TruTV's first launch into scripted television. So, I've been a part of spearheading a new network, and it is difficult, you're shifting, Spike's demographic was all men, and we love men watching our show but you know it's women finding ... You're finding a new network what does that mean? What is this channel? Related: American Woman Season 1 Episode 4 Review: The Cost of Living Then, you're finding this new audience you hope to gain that is a female demographic where once was housed mostly male shows. So, it hasn't been, it's not a breeze, but I feel like this show is up for the challenge and I think it's nice that it's paired with something like Yellowstone because they are so different. I think it's slow and steady. I mean with most network revamps or starts of new networks it takes time, you just got to be patient. Which I'm an actor, I'm not patient. It felt like the wait was forever. As a '70s kid, I was so excited about the show, and then there was a delay and even a new network! Yeah, yeah. Tell me about it, trust me. As the actor in it, I was like, 'Ar..

The Originals Promo: Is Everyone Doomed?

We may be damaged, but we are not doomed. Those are the heartbreaking words Rebekah Mikaelson utters to her sister Freya on The Originals Season 5 Episode 11, as the latter gears up for her wedding. The episode looks set to pick up in the immediate aftermath of The Originals Season 5 Episode 10 with Hope activating her werewolf side after accidentally killing a priest. Desperate to find a way to save Hope from her affliction, Klaus turns to the one person who could have any pull with the ancestral magic that's around New Orleans: Davina. With Davina and Kol being together, it sure sounds like Davina has changed her stance on helping the Mikaelsons and that's a good thing. What the teaser also offers up is a scene of Hayley speaking about an ex she just can't escape from her system, and it looks to weigh heavily on Elijah. Oh yes, Elijah is still hurting for not being able to save Hayley in her time of need, and there's a good chance that he's going to be exiting New Orleans for good during the hour. He wants to make up for what he did, and while it's doubtful he can bring Hayley back into the land of the living, he can try. Watch the full preview below, and join us with your thoughts on it in the comments. Remember you can watch The Originals online right here via TV Fanatic. Get caught up on all the action before the final season comes to a close! The Originals continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
