Shooter: Canceled After 3 Seasons!

Considered by USA Network to have fired too many blanks of late, Shooter has been canceled. The drama will be permitted to wrap up its ongoing third season, but will not return for a fourth, according to Variety. Five episodes remain on Season 3. For this, the Ryan Phillippe-led series is averaging 740,000 total viewers and just under a 0.2 demographic rating among 18-49-year olds, a sharp drop from last year's figures of 1.25 million and 0.35, respectively. As is so often the case these days when a show gets the axe, fans are likely wondering whether Season 4 could be picked up by Hulu or some other streaming service. And Variety does report that Universal Cable Productions and Paramount Television, which co-produce the series, are looking into this exact possibility. But the odds are very low. Shooter is based on a number of novels by author Stephen Hunter. It featured Phillippe in the leading role of Marine Corps sniper Bob Lee Swagger, a man who was yanked back into the dangerous fray after his former commanding officer asked for some assistance in stopping an assassination plot against the President of the United States. However, Swagger then learned that he had actually been set up to take the blame for another murder... ... and set on a mission to prove his innocence. The books were also made into a 2007 movie with Mark Wahlber. While Phillippe was the name on the marquee, Shooter also starred: - Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill) as Swagger’s wife Julie. - Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Arrow) as FBI Agent Nadine Memphis. - Eddie McClintock (Bones) as nefarious figure Jack Payne. - Josh Stewart (The Punisher) as a sniper named Solotov. - Jesse Bradford (The West Wing) as Harris Downey. - Gerald McRaney (This Is Us) as Red Bama Sr. Wahlberg and Phillippee both served as producers on Shooter. Will you be said to see it go away?

Younger Season 5 Episode 10 Review: Girls on the Side

Let me be perfectly clear, Liza is no one's damn side piece. At least that's the conclusion she came to on Younger Season 5 Episode 10. There were a lot of different factors that went into her epic realization, but it's leading us to the place I figured she'd arrive at eventually -- she doesn't need a man, she needs to choose herself. It isn't a "forever" decision, but merely temporary one as the dust settles for Charles and she figures out her relationship-dynamic with Josh and how he fits into her life. Josh was the first one to plant the side-piece thought into Liza's mind when she finally came clean to him about her relationship with Charles in an attempt to be "more real." Remember how Charles said it was pertinent that their involvement remains a secret? It seems like Liza isn't so good at keeping secrets when they don't serve her. Anyways, Josh's reaction was impactful because it was brutally honest about how he was feeling. He was hurt because he thought there was a chance that one day they might be together, and then realized he was completely blindsided by what was really going on. He assumed that he would remodel the salon as proof that he's gotten his shit together, and Liza would give him another chance. Thanks a lot for giving him false hope, Caitlin! Josh hasn't been acting too mature this season, but at this moment, I could appreciate his bluntness. He's right -- he has never tried to keep his feelings for Liza a secret and has always worn his heart on his sleeve. But wanting to be with her and not shying away from his feelings doesn't exactly mean he deserves to be with her. In fact, I'd look at this as the first step to finally being able to move on. Liza: I just spent the weekend telling my daughter not to be some guy's secret. And I don't want to be in a relationship I can't be open about. Charles: I understand, but now is just not the right time. Liza: Call me when it is. Permalink: Call me when it is. Added: August 13, 2018 I don't blame him for eventually deciding to remove the tattoo. The moment felt like a chapter was closing on the relationship -- one they wouldn't be revisiting anytime soon. I also feel like Liza isn't fair to Josh. She knows how much he cares about her -- she even knew he wanted to impress her with the tattoo shop from Kelsey -- but she won't remove herself from his life or give him space. When she wanted to barge in to see the remodeled shop, it was proof that she wanted the same kind of treatment that she used to have with him without actually being with him. You can't have it all, sis. For his sake, she needs to stop running to his side everytime he needs her and trying to be there for him. I'm also very upset that..

Animal Kingdom Season 3 Episode 12 Review: Homecoming

Pope is on a suicide mission. There was a possibility that Pope had every intention of doing in Smurf, but by the end of Animal Kingdom Season 3 Episode 12 there was a strong indication that the suicide kit he bought was for himself. It's a lot less messy than a gun. Pope only wanted the best for Lena, and when he couldn't be the one to provide it for her, he did what he thought would be in her best interests. He knew what it was like being raised by Smurf and knew that it was the worst thing that could happen to his niece. It didn't matter that he'd be an integral part of Lena's life again. He didn't want Lena to be as messed up as the rest of them under Smurf's manipulative, watchful eye. Related: Animal Kingdom Season 3 Episode 11: Jackpot Lena would never be able to escape from the family business. She'd never have a normal life under Smurf's watch. When Lena told Pope she was looking forward to having a sister and that she liked her foster family, Pope knew what he had to do. He kept his promise to Baz and Catherine that he would take care of Lena. As hard as it was for him to let her go and as much as it killed him to do it, he did the right thing. Smurf didn't truly care about Lena, anyway. She got Lena back as a way to get to Pope and bring him back into her fold. If that weren't true, then she wouldn't have so readily agreed to Pope's terms. Deran: I think you need to do something to keep yourself busy in between jobs. Pope: Why? Deran: Because, man, you get weird when you don't have anything to do. Permalink: Because, man, you get weird when you don't have anything to do. Added: August 13, 2018 Lena was only going to get in the way and be a constant reminder of Baz and Catherine, and Smurf couldn't have that. She needs Pope to do her dirty work, and she needs him to have a clear mind. Why else would her conditions not to pursue Lena be that he had to move back home? Smurf is a sick woman. Related: Get Starz via Prime Video Channels for Captivating Original Series & Hit Movies! And what kind of dirty work does Smurf have planned for Pope? Killing J is at the top of her list. Despite his efforts to convince her that Morgan was behind the Carlsbad property sale, it was evident Smurf wasn't buying it. She hasn't trusted him since he mouthed off to her in prison, and she knows he's up to something. I don't know why I thought that J might have been Pope's son. At some point during Animal Kingdom Season 1, the idea that Pope might be J's father was tossed out there, and it's something I latched onto for some reason. Even though the idea of incest is gross, it wouldn't be surprising if something sexual happened between Pope and J's mom. There are no boundaries in the Cody household. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Rewatch: Gingerbread

Welcome to Salem 1692. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 11 descended into pure chaos when the adults persecuted people of witchcraft. No one was safe from the effects of MOO! (Side-note: I'm going to laugh A LOT when using the acronym for Mothers Opposed to the Occult.) Witches, slayers, and intellectuals who love to read were all in danger in this spell-binding Monster of the Week adventure. Why was it so good? Let's find out by rewatching "Gingerbread." Based on my personal rewatch list, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 11 is one of my favorites. Even if you think it's executed pretty well or not, there's a lot to unpack in regards to the actions of the Sunnydale townsfolk. One of the key influences that stand out is the theme of witch-hunts and the trials in Salem, Massachusetts. Accusations and paranoia played on people's inherent fears of the unknown to drive them into doing unthinkable actions. Dozens of people were hung, drowned, and imprisoned for suspicion of being affiliated with the occult. In a majority of the cases, a lot of the accusations were based on political moves to claim land/fortunes or eliminate the competition. And, that's not even including all the witch-hunts that have happened for centuries now. Related: Enjoy UNLIMITED access to thousands of Movies and TV shows with Amazon Prime Video. WATCH ANYWHERE. CANCEL ANYTIME! What can I say, I love history. The subject was one of my best courses in school. (If any of that sounds exciting, you should totally binge all three seasons of Salem! It's a great little gem about witchcraft. Plus, you can watch Salem online here via TV Fanatic whenever you're ready.) At its core, Sunnydale is no exception to the frenzy. With all the missing people and the rise in supernatural activities, the town is a hot-bed for the occult. The fact that Sunnydale is also on a Hellmouth doesn't help either. The demon manipulated all the fears that were built up for so many years. Just think about how a non-supernatural (and non-woke) Sunnydale resident might have felt during these weekly adventures. Giles: There is a fringe theory held by a few folklorists that some regional stories have actual very literal antecedents. Buffy: And in some language that's English? Oz: Fairy tales are real. Buffy: Hans and Gre- Hansel and Gretel? Xander: Wait, Hansel and Gretel? Bread crumbs, ovens, gingerbread house? Giles: Of course, it makes sense now. Buffy: Yeah, it's all falling into place. Of course that place is nowhere near this place. Giles: Some demons thrive by fostering hatred and, uh, persecution amongst the mortal animals. Not by destroying men but by watching men destroy each other. Now, they feed us our darkest fear and turn peaceful communities into vigilantes. Buffy: Hansel and Gretel run home to tell everyone about the mean old witch. Giles: And then she and, probably, dozens of others are persecute..

Dynasty: Maddison Brown Cast as Anders’ Scheming Daughter Kirby

Kirby will make her presence felt on Dynasty Season 2. Australian actress Maddison Brown has joined the cast of The CW soap as Anders' (Alan Dale) wayward daughter, Kirby. “Kirby grew up in the staff’s living quarters with her father … and sides more with the downstairs occupants than the upstairs," reads the network's description of the character. "She has a fraught history with the Carringtons, specifically a tempestuous relationship with Fallon that was the reason for Kirby’s exile from the Manor years ago." "And while she returns to Atlanta to make amends with her father, she will certainly continue wreaking havoc on the Carringtons.” Related: The CW Sets Fall Premiere Dates for Riverdale, Legacies & More! Kirby showed up in the final few moments of Dynasty Season 1 Episode 22, but the actress was not shown in the episode in an attempt to ramp up the intrigue ahead of the second season. Given that we know Kirby is a troublemaker, we think it's fair to assume that she could be one of the suspects in the fire that ravaged part of the mansion. As previously reported, the fire is part of the reason for Cristal's death. Nathalie Kelley teased in June that she was done with the series and was back living in Los Angeles. The CW boss, Mark Pedowitz confirmed at the network's TCA appearance earlier this month that Cristal was definitely dead. Related: Dynasty Casts Ana Brenda Contreras as "Real Cristal" “We were a little surprised she spoiled the surprise,” the CW president Mark Pedowitz said of Kelley confirming she was out of the series before its return, saying “we have plans for other characters too. (Showrunner) Sallie (Patrick) has fun twist and turns in store.” However, he also confirmed that Ana Brenda Contreras was joining the cast as the “Real Cristal.” If you watch Dynasty online, you will know that Kelley's Cristal was really named Celia and had taken the identity of a woman named Cristal to escape her past. Also on the Dynasty casting front, Nicollette Sheridan has been promoted to a series regular, so there will be more scheming than ever before for Alexis. Dynasty returns October 12. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: First Look Photos!

With the news that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is coming to Netflix this October, the streamer has started the promotional train for the highly anticipated TV series. Two pictures have been released that give us our first look at Sabrina Spellman and some of the other characters in her life. The first of which shows Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) in the woods, presumably in one of the many precarious situations the character finds herself in throughout the series. Related: Sabrina: Get Your First Look at Salem! As a witch, Sabrina will be trying to come to terms with what it entails to be practicing magic while simultaneously trying to get by as a teenager in the town of Greendale. The second image has a more ominous tone, with what looks like some sort of ritual. Could this be the moment Sabrina finds herself being told about the power she has? Chilling Adventures of Sabrina "reimagines the story of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft, naturally," according to the official logline. Related: Sabrina Adds Possessed Teacher to Cast "The new iteration is described as in the vein of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist and finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit." The series started its life at The CW as a companion to the network's red-hot Riverdale, and while it was expected to get a series order down the line, Warners Bros. TV group agreed to a production deal with Netflix. What's more, the streamer also gave the show a two-season order, and each of the seasons will span ten episodes. The cast also includes Jaz Sinclair, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Richard Coyle, Ross Lynch and Tati Gabrielle. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina debuts October 26 on Netflix. View Slideshow: 27 Reboots Ruling 2018 — Should We Give Them The Boot?
