17 Disappointing Season Finales That Still Drive Us Crazy

Every story is inevitably judged by its ending. And in the TV world, until the ultimate series finale, it is the ending of each season that keeps the audience on its toes. It is also the episode that can make or break the show. There are some programs which have been able to bounce back, but still, many more whose shame is still spoken about even now. Human beings generally tend to maintain memories of negative events over positive ones. Perhaps that is why we always talk about the worst episodes of television, even if it is a show that you tend to enjoy. Here are the most disappointing season finales that we still can't get out of our heads! 1. Castle Rock Season 1 There has only been one season so far, but this show is going to have to step it up next season if it wants to keep our loyalty. The show started off with a slow burn that revved into a raging inferno as more layers were revealed to the story of a cursed little town. To have everything we thought we had learned thrown back in our faces at the last minute was quite distressing. 2. The Originals Series Finale A series finale is even more essential to a program's ongoing reputation than a season finale because you don't get a do-over afterward. For a five-season-long TV show that is also a spinoff of a show that ran for eight seasons, the pressure is even more severe. So, for the showrunners to just decided to kill every fan favorite in the very last episode feels like the worst kind of betrayal. 3. Gossip Girl Series Finale If a television show is going to center itself around a mystery that spans the entire series, it had better have a viable solution to that mystery by the end. Aside from the preposterousness of Dan Humphrey having access to all of the information he would need to be Gossip Girl, couldn't the identity of the internet Loki have been someone, I don't know, interesting? 4. Supernatural Season 7 Sometimes a bad finale is inevitable if the entire season up that point is infallibly awful. With a villain as un-terrifying as the Leviathans, there was no way that the stakes were going to be high enough even for a show as action-packed as Supernatural to deliver successfully. 5. How I Met Your Mother The series finale of this show made everything that led up to it feel pointless. The entire series was an explanation of how the main character met his late wife. Then this wife was just discarded in order for Ted to end up with Robyn, someone with whom he never had any chemistry to begin with. 6. Hemlock Grove Season 1 A truly unique and beautiful season of television almost ended on an emotionally transcendent note, but then seemed to backtrack at the last second. Maybe the showrunners were concerned there wouldn't be enough reason to tune in next season if they didn't rev up the action in the last few minutes. W..

Days of Our Lives Review: Everything Implodes

Seeing lies unravel is part of the fun of watching a soap. When evil characters finally get caught after months of lying to the person they claim to love and get some comeuppance, it's satisfying. On Days of Our Lives during the week of 9-24-18, all the lies surrounding Eve's involvement in Brady losing Tate and Brady's involvement in Eric losing Nicole came out, with disastrous results. But to my surprise, I found myself siding with Eve more than anyone else in this mess. This drug planting plot was a rerun of 2013's plot to break up JJ and Paige by hiring a prostitute to seduce JJ. When JJ didn't cooperate, the prostitute drugged him, and Eve proceeded to cover it up. That storyline was dropped, but it seemed to me the writers did it all over again by having Victor plant drugs in JJ's apartment and then having Eve tell everyone who would listen that JJ had probably relapsed even though she knew he hadn't. In both cases, Eve didn't intend for JJ to get tangled up in a drug-related mess but participated in covering it up anyway. Brady: Where's the tape? Eve: I don't know. And honestly I think Victor was just as surprised as I was that it wasn't in the safe. Brady: And you bought that? That was performance art, Eve. Victor was lying to you just like you lied to me and the upshot of all of this is that I don't have my boy. Do you understand that, Eve? Permalink: And you bought that? That was performance art, Eve. Victor was lying to you just like you... Added: September 28, 2018 Brady equated Eve to Kristen because she didn't tell him the truth about this, which was ridiculously harsh. Kayla had recently told Jennifer that her lie in no way made her into a murderous psychopath, and that's equally true for Eve. Eve's daughter was murdered, for goodness sake, so calling Eve a murderer because she didn't tell Brady what she'd done is cruel as well as ludicrous. Related: Get Shudder via Prime Video Channels for Spine-Tingling & Provocative Films, TV Series, & Originals! There's also the fact that Eve didn't tell Victor to plant drugs. Although her confession made it sound that way, which didn't help, she just told him to do what it took to make sure Theresa was discredited. Planting drugs was Victor's idea, not Eve's. She should have realized she was playing with fire and she should have known better than to cover it up, considering that her lies about her tryst with JJ cost her her relationship with Paige shortly before Paige's death. But she doesn't deserve the brunt of Brady's wrath either, especially not five seconds after he promised her there was nothing she could say that could ruin their relationship. I'm also not sure what to make out of this Eric/Jennifer mess. This is not the first time Eric has acted this way, only the first time he's acted like that towards Jen. Back in 2..

Wynonna Earp Season 3 Episode 11 and 12 Review: Daddy Lessons and War Paint

Well, it has officially all drawn to a close -- Wynonna Earp Season 3 is complete. But what a whirlwind it has been! Wynonna Earp Season 3 Episode 11 let us get our feet wet into the secrets that the Wynonna Earp world holds, particularly the careful hints that have been laid out this whole time surrounding Julian and Waverly's angerly heritage. And without a doubt, Wynonna Earp Season 3 Episode 12 was the most action-packed, tying-up-loose-ends episode this show has ever had (and one of the most jam-packed yet still cohesively crafted episodes I've ever seen!). From the incredible shoot-out scene to the multiple emotional death scenes and moments of utter desperation, this episode showed us the peak of what Wynonna Earp can and should be. If you think about it, there were so many clues surrounding Waverly's background that should have clicked. The show is about demons and hell, and Bobo kept saying that Waverly was his angel. Nicole: Besides, I would be terrible at keeping Waverly anywhere. She can convince me to do anything. Wynonna: Get a blazing phoenix tattoo all up your butt? Permalink: Get a blazing phoenix tattoo all up your butt? Added: September 29, 2018 Wynonna also calls Waverly "angel pants," and Michelle also called Waverly her angel. All the signals -- how did we miss them? Now that the season is over, a hearty re-watch is in order -- we can't miss the incredible path that was laid out by Emily Andras and the writers. It's brilliant. Maybe Julian was a bit of a surprise. There wasn't much to ultimately suggest that Charlie was in fact Julian -- not much about his memory was brought up previously. However, a mystery character like that was bound to be revealed as an existing character, and in retrospect, Charlie seems like the only viable option. Some people suspected Juan Carlo, but given his absence this season, it seemed unlikely. His lack of traditional aging also helped to fool audiences -- and, of course, his involvement with Wynonna. There's so much amusing intergenerational relationship-building that the show begins to laugh at itself. Wynonna: Let’s blow this Bulshar stand. Mercedes: Ew, don’t say “blow” and “Bulshar” in the same sentence. Permalink: Ew, don’t say “blow” and “Bulshar” in the same sentence. Added: September 29, 2018 The ending of the season gets a bit messy when it tries to set itself up for the next season (what's with Waverly not being able to get out but Doc being able to go in?), but the perfect chaos of the other two hours simply makes up for it. It's great to also see old jokes brought back including Wynonna's ass being top-shelf and Nicole smelling like vanilla-dipped donuts. Wynonna: I'm just the girl with the big-ass -- ass. Nicole: Girl. Wynonna: You're right, them boots is tight. Nicole: Top-shelf. Permalink: I'm just the girl with the big-ass -- ass. Added: September 29, 2018 By the way, we should ..

Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 1 Review: Playing with Fire

Jamie and Eddie's desire to remain partners caused a rift within the Reagan family that barely lasted the length of Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 1 and that was a let down. Jamie and Eddie's surprise engagement was one of the highlights of Blue Bloods Season 8. It opened up new avenues for these characters both personally and professionally and added a unique new twist to ramp up the drama by questioning whether romantic partners could or should be professional ones. Related: 13 Most Memorable "Jamko" Moments on Blue Bloods Finding out that there was no written rule to keep this from happening was something no one saw coming, not this reviewer and certainly not Police Commissioner Reagan. So why did the writers decide to resolve such an interesting plot point in the very first episode of Blue Bloods season 9, especially when it led to so many uncommon conversations? Frank: There is no way, no way, you are saying couples riding together is a good idea. Abigail: There’s a lot of valid reasoning in forbidding it. Frank: Thank you. Abigail: But maybe to Jamie’s side, there’s also no data or evidence, much less an actual rule. It’s just a tradition. Frank: Some traditions are born of common sense. Abigail: Yes, like Catholic priests being forbidden to marry because common sense tells us you couldn’t possibly tend the flock unless your personal life was utterly devoid of the comfort of human touch and companionship. Frank: Not the same thing, Abigail. Abigail: No, it’s not the same thing but it’s not that distant a cousin either. Permalink: No, it’s not the same thing but it’s not that distant a cousin either. Added: September 28, 2018 I loved how Abigail could see both sides to this argument because I could as well. Should something be done simply because it's always been done that way? Frank reacted emotionally instead of logically and he wasn't even trying to hide it, or perhaps he didn't even realize it. Henry was correct when he pointed out that Frank's first reaction to the engagement was negative. He couldn't even let the happy couple sit through a celebratory family dinner before bringing up that they needed to end their work partnership. And Frank bringing up Jamie and Eddie's fictional orphaned children seemed to be a particularly low blow in this Blue Bloods quote... So I look the other way. You get married. The two of you get taken out in the same action. What do you want me to do with your kids? Frank Permalink: So I look the other way. You get married. The two of you get taken out in the same action.... Added: September 28, 2018 Poor Eddie was caught in the middle of all this. She wanted to remain partners with Jamie but she also didn't want to be the cause of all of this turmoil within her new family. When she tried to make a sacrifice or find a compromise, Jamie accused her of caving in to his family and that wasn't fair. On the upside, I loved how Jack..
