The Good Place Season 3 Preview: A New Type of Reboot

The wait's almost over! After nearly eight months, The Good Place is back with all new episodes in just a little over a week. Luckily, we were able to preview the first four episodes of The Good Place Season 3, and we've got the scoop on what's to come. Related: The Good Place: Renewed for Season 3! Read on for some teases about what to expect when The Good Place finally returns. And don't forget, you can stay up to date when you watch The Good Place online right here on TV Fanatic! Aside from flashbacks, The Good Place has always taken place in the afterlife. The whole premise of the show relied on that fact seeing as our main characters' lives on Earth obviously ended with their deaths. The end of The Good Place Season 2 changed everything when Eleanor and the rest of her friends were resurrected by the judge and plopped back on Earth for a second chance. Despite being through hundreds of different reboots, we've never experienced anything quite like this. With the very basis of the show altered, the real question is, "where do we go from here?" Related: The Good Place Season 2 Episode 13 Review: Somewhere Else Although there is a significant amount of time jumps over the first four episodes, the premiere picks up right where the Season 2 finale left off. Just like the rest of the reboots, Eleanor goes to Chidi for help to become a better and more ethical person. As always, Eleanor and Chidi's connection is the driving force of just about everything. Whether these two were friends or more, it was their relationship that helped make both them and those around them better. But these two have never had it easy, and it seems like this season they'll have a few roadblocks (and love interests) standing in their way. Despite the ups and downs Eleanor and Chidi face throughout the series, it's hard not to see how perfect these two are for each other. Although they weren't actual "soulmates" like Michael set them up to be, it seems like he may have accidentally stumbled onto the perfect pair. Now we just need this version of Chidi and Eleanor to realize it. View Slideshow: 17 Will They Won't They Couples That Should Eleanor and Chidi aren't the only two whose lives on Earth we get to see. We also get a glimpse into what Jason and Tahani have been doing over the past year, and they've both been on quite interesting paths. While Jason ends up pursuing a new passion, Tahani seemingly finds a way to get away from her sister and the public eye. And it's not at all what you'd expect. Meanwhile back in the afterlife, Michael and Janet will stop at nothing to get Eleanor, Chidi, Jason, and Tahani into the real Good Place. Michael's constant persistence and the lengths he will go to to save his friends is a big part of the new season. Season 3 makes it hard to believe that there was a time in Michael's life devoted to torturing his ne..

Kelly Clarkson Talk Show a Go at NBC – Will It Replace Days of Our Lives?

Kelly Clarkson's next TV gig will give fans a lot to talk about. The popular singer has landed her own talk show at NBC, and it is slated for a fall 2019 rollout. Thus far, it has been sold to 11 NBC-owned affiliates across the country and will air weekdays in those markets. These markets include: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Miami, San Diego, and Hartford. Clarkson revealed the first details of her talk show on The Tonight Show to host Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night. Related: NBC Fall Schedule: Where's Brooklyn Nine-Nine? "Well, I’m doing this to kind of prep for my talk show that’s going to be next year. We’re doing a live segment during my show,” Kelly revealed to Jimmy on-air of how her upcoming tour will tie into the show. “So every night on tour, we’re going live online.” Kelly added that she is going in this direction for the “people that can’t come out.” With that, Jimmy revealed that he was surprised Clarkson was being so open about the show because it was yet to be confirmed by NBC. Kelly laughed it off, confirming that the talk show's existence has "been leaked." This was very likely in reference to reports that recently revealed she filmed a pilot with Chloe Grace Moretz, Terry Crews, and Josh Groban in Los Angeles. “At the pilot, I got, you know, people to sing with me and do little skits. So it’s very musical as well. It would be weird if it wasn’t,” Kelly told Jimmy of the pilot. But where will NBC be placing the series? “Yeah, it’s daytime. We’re on right before Ellen [DeGeneres],” Kelly said. Kelly then went on to say how the show will be set up, and it sounds like her touring band will play a big part in all of the fun. “That’s the cool thing. My people on tour. Because my show is actually going to be a little different than you know, anything that’s been on,” Kelly told Jimmy. Related: NBC Sets Fall Premiere Dates for This Is Us, Manifest & More! “Just because I’m still touring, I’m still — you know what I’m saying? It’s kind of one of those things where my band is on the road with me, or they’re on the show with me.” Kelly continued, “We sing every day on the show and do like this fan request thing, it’s fun.” It sounds like a fun show, but what might its existence mean for another show on NBC's daytime roster? The most likely scenario here is that the Peacock network finally decides it's time to rest Days of Our Lives. The long-running soap has been on the air since 1965 and is only renewed through next summer. Wouldn't that mean it's a likely candidate for the chop ahead of Kelly's show hitting the air? Despite diminished ratings, Days is still very popular with viewers, but it wouldn't be all that surprising if it was nixed in favor of a younger and cheaper option. What are your thoughts on this, TV Fanatics? With Kelly in, does it mean Days of ..

Grey’s Anatomy Poster: 15 Seasons of Feels!

Grey's Anatomy has put its characters through the mill over the last fourteen seasons. But one thing's for sure: Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will still be front and center during Grey's Anatomy Season 15, at least according to the official poster released by ABC. The tagline is a great little throwback to the seasons before, and a look forward to the journey ahead for Meredith. "15 seasons of feels" is probably the best way to describe how the show has made viewers feel at times. Related: Grey's Anatomy Shocker: Sarah Drew & Jessica Capshaw Fired With heartbreaking twists, medical mysteries, and all of the relationship drama, it continues to be one of the most popular dramas on the air. Grey's Anatomy Season 14 was a return to form, but it's unclear whether the exits of Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew will have a knock-on effect on the show. If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you know that they both got happy endings at the close of Grey's Anatomy Season 14. Grey's typically kills characters off when they are on their way out, so it was a refreshing surprise to have them leave and still be healthy. The move was controversial, with many fans threatening to boycott the series. Both Arizona (Capshaw) and April (Drew) had decent storylines during their final season, and it's hard to imagine fans just forgetting about them. With those two popular characters out, another popular character is making a return on a more permanent basis. As previously reported, Kim Raver, who plays Teddy Altman is returning as a series regular effective from Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 1. Teddy revealed on Grey's Anatomy Season 14 Episode 24 that she was pregnant with Owen's child, a handful of episodes after the latter adopted a child of his own. Related: Grey's Anatomy Promo: Meredith is Sleeping With WHO? In addition, he was rekindling his relationship with Amelia, so that's surely going to cause a whole host of problems throughout the new season. But what will the season premiere actually be about? "The doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial vie for a new position," reads the official description for the first hour of the premiere. "Meredith is seemingly distracted and struggles to stay focused, and Maggie finds herself the keeper of a big secret while Amelia and Owen try to figure out their relationship. "Meanwhile, Jo and Alex’s honeymoon doesn’t go exactly as planned." As for the second hour, "New doctors continue to shake up the hospital in typical Grey Sloan manner." "Meredith bonds with a patient while Jackson struggles with the meaning behind recent experiences; and after making a life-changing decision, Jo forms an unexpected alliance." Loki, Scarlet Witch & More Marvel Series Eyed at Disney’s Streaming Service

When Disney launches its new streaming service in 2019, some of your favorite Marvel heroes could be on the platform with their own limited series. According to Variety, the studio is working on multiple standalone series that will feature some of the supporting players from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Two of the series said to be in the works right now will center on Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), respectively. What's more, both Hiddleston and Olsen would are said to be reprising their roles in the shows. It's definitely an interesting way to drum up some interest for the streaming service. The Marvel Cinematic Universe makes a lot of money for Disney, and there's a great deal of buzz for every single release that never dies down for months. Disney has yet to confirm the existence of such projects, but Variety is one of the best sources for information in the entertainment industry so we're inclined to believe the report. If you're worried about the shows looking terrible in comparison to the movies, then worry not: They will each have a big price tag. It would be awful if we witnessed these characters in the expansive world of the movies, only to have them saddled by terrible special effects and uninspired sets. Related: DC Universe: When Does It Launch? If you don't like a big commitment when it comes to TV shows, then it will likely be music to your ears to know that each of these series is only expected to span six to eight installments. Less is usually more as far as limited series are concerned, and the above amount of episodes will likely be enough to tell a decent story at a breakneck pace. It's unsurprising that Disney is turning to its established brands to help get the streaming service, which is slated to debut in 2019, off the ground. With a live-action Star Wars series, a brand new High School Musical TV series, and even Monster Inc project in the works, there's certainly a lot of anticipation for the service. It will all come down to the cost of the service. With cable-free options becoming more and more common, many people are reluctant to add another streaming service to their monthly outgoings. Related: Titans Trailer: Why Does Robin Hate Batman? Gone are the days with just Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and Hulu. With more streaming options than ever, DC Universe is looking to capitalize on fans of superhero content, but will that be a success? Time will tell. What are your thoughts on this new service? Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 3 Review: Buho/Muwan

Never get attached to a TV character, especially if they find themselves in a plethora of trouble at the very beginning. This is the lesson I've learned after watching Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 3. The fate of the man I declared the MVP of the show is looking bleak. Angel's actions were bound to have consequences but it didn't look like his betrayal would be found out so soon. However, he has made Alvarez suspicious and after watching Bishop murder the traitor from the Chinese, Angel knows he has to be more careful, or at least I hope he knows. Angel is slowly drowning, and the chances of EZ being able to save him are not good. I'm trying to be an optimist by believing that Kurt Sutter would never kill off the heart of the show. However, then I remember what happened to Opie on Sons of Anarchy and realize no one is ever safe in a Sutter show. For the time being, I'm just going to appreciate the remaining time we have left with Angel. One particular moment that shined in this episode was the very end. After a hectic day with the M.C., the Reyes men came together in honor of the seven-year anniversary of their mother's death. Related: Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 1 Review: Perr/Oc It was a particularly hard day for Felipe and EZ, who continued to reflect on the worst day of their lives. Luckily, Angel joined the two of them after the meeting with the Chinese and put a smile on his father's face. Angel: Just wanted to check in on this one, make sure he didn't stroke out. Felipe: Your compassion overwhelms me. Permalink: Your compassion overwhelms me. Added: September 18, 2018 It was the first prolonged interaction we got to see between Angel and Filipe, and it was just as adorable as anyone could imagine. When the episode ended with Filipe putting a blanket over both of his sons on the couch, I couldn't help but shed a happy tear. This may be an unpopular opinion, but Mayans M.C. needs less complicated plotlines and more cute and fun Reyes family scenes. Besides the Reyes family story arc, the rest was kind of bland compared to Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 2. The story arc involving the kidnapping of Cristobal that was previously at the forefront was pushed to the backburner. Emily didn't accomplish much despite giving an impassioned speech directed towards Dita. Emily: What would you do if it was your son? Dita: I would support my husband. Emily: No. That's what you have to do, what would you want to do? I know you well enough Dita. A still tongue and idle hands aren't strategies in your maternal handbook. Permalink: No. That's what you have to do, what would you want to do? I know you well enough Dita. A... The Purge Season 1 Episode 3 Review: The Urge to Purge

Oh, where to start when all of the storylines get a kick in the pants? The Purge Season 1 Episode 3 was a lot more fun than the previous two installments even if it was just as easy to kick back and roll your eyes at the idiocy of the proceedings. Some new players are coming and going in the background giving our gullible leads a lot more material to chew on, and it's exactly what the doctor ordered! The introduction of a new mystery with the groovy lookin' dude in the iron mask led me to believe Miguel is not our hero. Miguel may be Penelope's hero, but the overall story could use a little jump, you know? Maybe he's coming in the form on the man in the iron mask. Related: The Purge Season 1 Episode 2 Review: Take What's Yours Sure, the cynical side pops in to say the guy is just another Purge Night goon for hire, but how would he get the goods on potential assassinations or crimes in progress on Purge Night if he wasn't already on the side of good? While Dominic Fumusa (Pete the Cop) isn't a household name, he has a familiar and heroic face from his many roles. The hair doesn't match, but I want him to be in on something like the Iron Mask gig and not just boozin' during Purge Night. Rush job for a car? It's like you want me to hate you. Pete Permalink: Rush job for a car? It's like you want me to hate you. Added: September 18, 2018 His willingness to help Miguel was a good sign, and it's probably frowned upon to do your job and stop Purgers. OK. The dude is very hot and seeing him again would be beneficial for the Urge to Purge, you know what I mean? Miguel needs help other than the reporters Pete sent his way to help track Penelope. They were a welcome distraction, though. Miguel: You guys are here filming the violence. Drive in there! Brit: That's why God invented zoom lenses. Permalink: That's why God invented zoom lenses. Added: September 18, 2018 Miguel got damn close to his sister but in true dramatic fashion interacted with her Purge Night captors before being pointed to the Blue Bus to find her. After seeing a few deaths, the kids on the bus look like the children they are and their fear has finally caught up to them. Even the Good Leader can't figure out what to do with them, so using her best judgment, she thrusts Penelope before them to do her job. Of course, Penelope uses that as the wind in her sails to stand up like a brave soul before her leader. Related: The Purge Season 1 Episode 1 Review: What Is America? Cults are there to use you and abuse you, as Penelope soon discovers. She should have already known that since she saw the cult of the New Founding Fathers of America trick her parents into selling their souls for the first Purge. Penelope is misunderstanding the easy way her mother died on the floor before her with the death the Good Leader is promising. The door covered the hard part of dying and their mom di..

Julie Chen Exits The Talk: Watch Her Emotional Goodbye

Julie Chen is officially out of The Talk. The anchor bid farewell to the CBS talk show in an emotional video which aired Tuesday on the series, and was filmed from the set of Big Brother. “I have been at The Talk since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew, and staff have become family to me over the years," she revealed at the top of the video message, adding: "But right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So I’ve decided to leave The Talk. "I want to thank everyone at the show for our wonderful years together. I will always, always cherish the memories we shared. "Most important, I want to thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home every day. It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. "To everyone behind the scenes… I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much.” Chen went on to speak about her co-stars. I open, you close, and you always bring down the house… Your wit and timing and humor and compassion and intelligence is simply unparalleled.” Lastly, she addressed Sara Gilbert and Sharon Osbourne: “We’ve been together since Day 1 at The Talk. I’ve spent every day with you both. "I will always treasure our friendship, the great parenting advice from both of you and the memories and laughs and all the private jokes that the three of us have shared. "We are the original Three Musketeers. I love you all, and I know that this show, and the sisterhood that it stands for, will live on for many, many, many more years to come. We love you, Julie.” Chen's exit was already foreshadowed when she took some time off following her husband, Les Moonves, being fired at the network following sexual harassment allegations. “I am taking a few days off from The Talk to be with my family," Chen shared last week. "I will be back soon and will see you Thursday night on Big Brother.” Julie did return to Big Brother, but she stirred up some controversy when she closed Thursday's episode by saying: “I’m Julie Che..
