The Good Place Season 3 Episode 11 Review: The Book of Dougs

NBC's supernatural comedy is really hitting its stride in the second half of its third season. The Good Place Season 3 Episode 11 is a great continuation of the show's latest events, and it feels like everything is building up to something mindblowing. Each episode seems to add another piece to the evergrowing puzzle, and we can only hope that by the finale we'll finally get to step back and see the full picture. While The Good Place Season 3 Episode 10 led us to believe the gang was finally in the actual Good Place, we knew that there was no way things were that simple. Related: The Good Place Season 3 Episode 10 Review: Janet(s) It wasn't surprising at all to discover that they were simply in the Good Place mailroom and the actual Good Place was trillions of miles away. Of course, that information didn't stop Eleanor from trying to break down a door and make her own way to the Good Place. This is how I always got out of Escape Rooms! If you break enough stuff they throw you out! Eleanor Permalink: How I always got out of Escape Rooms Added: January 09, 2019 Michael's determination to figure out what's really going on never ceases to amaze. For a character who started off as a villain, he has really come a long way and put himself on the side of justice. If anyone can get to the bottom of this, it's Michael. Related: Sarah Michelle Gellar: Returning to TV! However, his talk with the Good Place committee seemed like it was too good to be true. The series loves to make things as difficult for its characters as possible, and there was no way the random band of heroes was going to jump in and save the day. Therefore, when the committee revealed there was a thousand-year hold up before they could take definitive action, it was pretty much to be expected. Chidi and Eleanor are together and despite running for their lives and trying to stay out of hell, they make each other genuinely happy. Their makeshift date was absolutely adorable and they were able to make the best of their situation despite the impending doom that's always laying ahead. Here's some champagne for you for thanking me for thanking you for thanking me for thanking you for thanking me for the champagne you sent me. Eleanor Permalink: For thanking me for thanking you Added: January 09, 2019 Chidi was also able to raise Eleanor's spirits when she started to break down, which has really been a long time coming. Surprisingly enough, Eleanor is the strongest character on The Good Place. No matter what is going on around her, Eleanor's primary concern is her friends. Despite what she may be going through herself, it always takes a back seat to the needs of those around her. Eleanor Shellstrop..

Gotham Season 5 Episode 2 Review: Trespassers

Jim and Babs forever! I'm not sure where they are headed this season, but on Gotham Season 5 Episode 2 they seemed to be circling a happy place with each other. Jim has always relied on Barbara to help him out in his various predicaments, and she has always begrudgingly obliged. To me, that signifies some lingering feelings for each other. Both of them are alone now. Lee is nowhere to be found, and the thought of her hasn't even crossed Jim's mind. Barbara no longer has Tabitha which leaves it wide open for a possible reunion between them. Related: Gotham Season Premiere Review: Year One Sure, Babs is on a rampage about Penguin and that might be her main objective, but that fact that she showed up in the Dark Zone in the most badass of ways to save Jim's ass means something, right? The connection between the two runs deep and despite all the drama they've faced over the years, that connection has never been broken. I'm sure that part of Jim's feelings is that he blames himself for her run-in with the Ogre. Had he not gotten together with Lee the way he did, that whole nightmare would probably never have happened. Here he comes, Gotham. Your judge. Your jailer. Your most hated son. Have at him! Rip him to shreds! No one deserves to die more than he. Barbara Permalink: Here he comes, Gotham. Your judge. Your jailer. Your most hated son. Have at him! Rip him to... Added: January 05, 2019 But it's more than that. When Jim was on his Red Queen trip courtesy of Jervis Tetch on Gotham Season 3, it wasn't Lee who accompanied him on his journey, but Barbara. It doesn't matter that in one of his fantasies he was married to Lee with children, the person he had by his side through all of the elevator floors was the person he trusted and could rely on most: Barbara. And if you look back through Gotham history, it's always Barbara that Jim turns to when he's in need. Barbara has never had a fair shake on this series. She went from syrupy sweet on Gotham Season 1 to all kinds of crazy throughout the rest of the seasons. It was always my hope that she'd turn out to be the Queen of Gotham because that woman deserves to have a crown on her head after all she's been through. Related: Project Blue Book Review: The Fuller Dogfight I don't really believe that Barbara wants to be a villain. She just wants some sort of normalcy back in her life. She wants to be valued and loved. She wants to matter. Getting back together with Jim won't define her, but it will bring her back some of her old self that she so desperately desires. One can only hope. Before Babs made her grand appearance in the Dark Zone, Jim and Bullock were trying to save the orphans from a lifetime of slavery. I'm not sure how Gotham is going to introduce Shane West as Bane, but I think we got a small taste of what's to come with the smoke masks. I'm also wonder..

Criminal Minds Renewed for Season 15 – Its LAST!!

This is the news everyone has been debating, expecting, and dreading over the past few seasons. It's good news and bad news for fans of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. Criminal Minds Season 15 has been announced, and with the renewal came the news that the 10-episode season to air during the 2019-20 broadcast season will be its last. It's been a long and exciting ride since Criminal Minds first aired on CBS in 2005. In 14 seasons the show has focused not only on the often gruesome cases and deranged unsubs the team hunts but on the team itself. It's the team the viewers will miss the most. It's the changes on the team that put the show on the bubble for a good portion of the last few seasons, but it's also the amazing members of the BAU and the actors that currently fulfill the roles who have made the show a fan-favorite again. “It is the quintessential CBS hit. We are so proud to have aired it,” said Amy Reisenbach, CBS’ EVP current programs. “It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television. It’s been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC (Studios).” Related - Criminal Minds Review: Hamelin By the time Criminal Minds goes off the air, it will have amassed 325 episodes, putting it in the top 20 shows of all time alongside shows like ER and CSI. Only juggernauts like Gunsmoke, Grey's Anatomy, and Law & Order: SVU top it. “We wanted to make sure Erica had the time and ability to write a season (14) finale that honors the characters and the fans,” said Reisenbach. “We discussed wanting to keep the show in continuous production, so 10 felt like the right number for us to roll straight into and give Erica enough episodes to end the series the way she wanted to.” Related: Elementary Canceled After Seven Seasons at CBS! What more could fans want than to know they can continue watching before a new season arrives and that they're heading toward a logical conclusion? Well, according to Deadline, there is more in store, and it seems like something everyone will love. “I am very hopeful that we can honor all of those characters who have been beloved and with this team, with the audience for years, but I don’t know what that’s going to look like; I don’t know the logistics of anything or the story," said Erika Messer, executive producer/showrunner. "That won’t be shooting until the spring, so I have some time to think about it, but the hope is to be able to honor all of that history, all of those heroes who have come and gone.” Related: Get CBS All Access via Prime Video Channels for Hit Shows, Exclusive Originals & Live TV! Messer also said that over the years, the idea of the ending of the show has changed, but not to expect something horrific like the BAU plane to take off and crash. She does, though, expect it to be a tearjerker. We love ritualistic murders, serial killings, campus shenanigans, or desert disas..

The CW Spring: Where Will The 100, iZombie, Arrow & More Land?

The CW has confirmed return dates for some of its most popular dramas, and there are some changes coming to the schedule. The 100 Season 6 will get underway on Tuesdays at 9/8c beginning April 30, just one week after Roswell, New Mexico wraps its 13-episode run. It's good news for fans of The 100 because it is keeping the same slot it held last year, providing some stability for fans who have been waiting since last summer for fresh episodes. There are some changes coming to Monday nights in 2019. DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns on Monday, April 1 at 8/7c, just two weeks after Black Lightning Season 2 wraps. Related: The CW Confirms Midseason Schedule With Legends moving to the earlier hour, it means Arrow will be bumped back to the 9/8c slot it was supposed to have when The CW announced its fall 2018 schedule in May. This is likely a move to draw the younger audience back to Legends because Arrow has proven to be resilient in any slot the network has put it in over the years. As for the network's other new drama, In the Dark, it premieres out of Supernatural after Legacies Season 1 comes to a close. The good news is that it will benefit from the Supernatural lead-in when it bows Thursday, April 4 at 9/8c. Meanwhile, the network also confirmed when fans should expect to see the final seasons of two of the most popular dramas. Jane the Virgin will return for its final season on Wednesday, March 27 out of Riverdale, while iZombie will debut once Supernatural wraps its truncated 12th season. The Punisher Season 2 Trailer: An Old Villain Returns

Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is out for blood on the official trailer for The Punisher Season 2 when his old foe Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) returns with an agenda. Frank “can run but he can’t hide from who he’s meant to be. Season 2 finds Frank in all-too-familiar territory," reads the official logline for the new season. "With Castle’s former brother-in-arms Billy Russo slowly beginning to heal from the traumatic brain injury Frank inflicted on him, it’s only a matter of time before Billy starts to put the pieces of the puzzle back together.” Billy is not ready to let Frank off the hook for what went down on The Punisher Season 1, so he sets his sights on some cold hard revenge, and not even the young woman Frank is looking after is safe. Oh yes, Frank has someone along for the ride and she's going to need to keep her wits about her if she is to stay safe in this vengeance-filled tale. The trailer alone confirms Frank and the young woman have a lot in common. They both lost everything, and now they need to stick together against all the odds. With The Punisher Season 2 gearing up to air on January 18, it faces an uncertain future on Netflix. The streamer canceled Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil over the last few months amid claims that the relationship between Netflix and Disney has soured. That left just The Punisher, and Jessica Jones as the remaining Netflix-Marvel shows still in production. However, with The Punisher and Jessica Jones as the only shows with episodes in the can, it wouldn't make sense to cancel them before the episodes are released. That's why it wouldn't be surprising if both shows were let go following their upcoming seasons. For now, have a look at the full trailer and hit the comments below.

Supergirl: Jonathan Bennett Lands Guest Role

Jonathan Bennett will stop by National City later this year. The Mean Girls star confirmed via Instagram that he will appear on Supergirl in a guest-starring capacity, and his character finds himself on the outs with the show's titular hero. He is described as a “wide-eyed government attaché who is grateful when Supergirl saves his life. However, when he shows his true colors by attending an anti-alien rally, Supergirl aims to prove to Quentin that not all aliens are bad,” according to The CW. "Have I mentioned I love my job? @supergirlcw #supergirl #supergirlcw," he shared alongside the above image of him on the Vancouver set. The episode in question will air in the coming months during Supergirl Season 4, which is airing on Sundays at 8/7c. Related: Supergirl Season 4 Episode 9 Review: Elseworlds, Part Three Bennett has appeared in a string of hit TV shows throughout the years. With roles on Smallville, Veronica Mars, and even All My Children, he has kept busy over the years. More recently, he appeared on Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" music video alongside some of his fellow Mean Girls costars. He also currently hosts multiple Food Network series and hosts the after show for Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club, which premiered earlier this week on MTV. Supergirl is currently on its holiday hiatus on The CW, and new episodes are slated to begin Sunday, January 19. The superhero drama helped The CW relaunch programming on Sundays in the fall, and despite taking a hit in the ratings, it is holding up fairly well. Supergirl Season 4 is currently averaging 1.4 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating in live plus same day ratings . It ranks fifth out of the network's twelve shows. Veronica Mars: Adam Rose Joins Hulu Revival

The Veronica Mars revival has added another familiar face to its ranks. According to TV Line, Adam Rose is the latest actor from the original WPN/ The CW series to return. Rose played Max on Veronica Mars Season 3. Max was the man who was selling old tests and research papers to the students of Hearst College. While Tina Majorino is still not signed on to appear on the in-production revival, this could mean that she's not far behind. Max and Mac dated for a minute back in the day, and while it's difficult to imagine them being together when the Hulu narrative picks up, stranger things have happened. Related: Veronica Mars Revival Ordered at Hulu With several years between the revival and Season 3 of the underrated drama, Max has moved on to work as the owner of Neptune's marijuana dispensary. Rose joins a returning cast that already includes Kristen Bell (Veronica), Enrico Colantoni (Keith) Jason Dohring (Logan), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Weevil), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), Max Greenfield (Leo D'Amato), and David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas). "Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry," reads the official logline for the limited series which picks up five years after the events of the movie. Related: Veronica Mars: Max Greenfield Returns "After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach." The original Veronica Mars aired on TV from 2004-07, but the new project will span eight episodes and be shared with viewers courtesy of Hulu. You know what that means, marshmallows? Short Treks: A Rundown of Discovery’s Mini-Missions

To keep the Star Trek flame lit during the hiatus, Star Trek: Discovery created four standalone shorts which were released on a monthly basis starting in October. Diverse in scope, style, and character focus, they provided a tantalizing peek at the past, present, and future of the crew and ship we have gotten to know and look forward to seeing again very soon. Related: Get CBS All Access via Prime Video Channels for Hit Shows, Exclusive Originals & Live TV! WARNING: SPOILERS "Runaway" stars Ensign Sylvia Tilly as she problem-solves a stowaway situation with her usual grace under fire. "Calypso" mashes up elements of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale and Homer's Odyssey to tell the story of healing, friendship, and love. "The Brightest Star" is Saru's origin story, showing us how he came to be the first Kelpian to join the Federation. "The Escape Artist" brings back the infamous Harry Mudd in all his wheeling and dealing glory to cement his place as the Federation's Most Wanted. Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 returns on CBS All Access on January 17. 1. The Runaway -- USS Discovery The first of the Short Treks takes place before the events of Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 as Tilly has no roommate yet and is still in the early stages of considering the Command program. This makes sense for introducing the idea of these tangential tales, giving us a familiar face in a familiar setting. 2. The Runaway -- A Stowaway I loved the initial element of creepiness as we only glimpse Discovery's newest and unexpected visitor. Great atmosphere. 3. The Runaway -- Tilly Ah, Tilly. So sweet. So awkward. So caffeinated. Her conversation with her mother's hologram illuminates a lot about her insecurities. (I also get the sense that the Mirror Universe's Captain Killy probably offed her mom early in her career.) 4. The Runaway -- Me Hana Ika Hani Ka Po "The Runaway" in the title has a double meaning here as Tilly's oh-so-supportive mother reminds her of a humiliating childhood episode where she ran away from a class activity she couldn't do. Of course, the main reference is the prickly young Xahean who has run away after her invention causes huge turmoil on her newly-warp-capable planet. Po's speech about her connection with her planet is simultaneously poignantly poetic and completely nonsensical but succeeds in quickly establishing the sense of Xahea's chaotic environment. 5. The Runaway -- Dilithium At the center of the story is quite literally a power struggle. Po's invention, a dilithium incubator which can regrow the essential fuel for warp engines, makes Xahea (in Tilly's words) "the most politically relevant planet in the galaxy." (I'm a little confused how a planet that has been mining dilithium for generations only just established warp technology.) 6. The Runaway -- New Friends The Bottom Line: This was a lovely little Tilly tale with a positive message about the how insecur..

Law & Order SVU Season 20: What Has Worked Through Midseason?

After 20 years, you'd think a show would recycle old, unfresh plots. But Law & Order: SVU Season 20 is still going strong halfway through its run. There's a lot we'd like to see more often, and a few things we hope the second half of the season doesn't focus on at all. Related: Get True Crime Files by ID via Prime Video Channels for Over 1,000 Real-life Mystery & Suspense Shows! Check out our picks below and share your thoughts. Need your SVU fix right now? Watch Law & Order: SVU online here on TV Fanatic! 1. Benson Struggling to Stay In Shape - Worked Law & Order: SVU Season 20 began with Benson getting winded while chasing a suspect and realizing she was no longer Wonder Woman and that age and stress had taken their toll, especially after her problems led to a bystander getting injured. This is a compelling storyline, but other than one workout scene it hasn't been mentioned since. More please! 2. Rollins' Baby Daddy - Hasn't Worked Law & Order: SVU wrote in a pregnancy for Rollins due to Kelli Giddish's real-life pregnancy, and that's fine. But this baby daddy drama nonsense is not. This time the baby's father is her on-and-off loser of a boyfriend who is a doctor with an addiction to prostitutes. Please let Rollins issue him a child support order after the baby is born and then never speak of him again. 3. Rollins Questioning the World - Worked While the baby daddy drama is totally unnecessary, Rollins wondering what kind of world she's bringing her child into is strong drama. The often heinous crimes SVU deals with are affecting her worse than they used to affect Stabler, putting her -- and viewers -- on an emotional roller coaster that leaves us glued to the screen. 4. Noah Acting Out - Worked Benson's usually sweet six-year-old has been acting out and leaving her stressed about what's going on at home while she's working far too many hours. Is Noah acting out because Benson isn't home enough, because of inherited mental illness, or because he's testing boundaries? We don't know because he's only been featured in scattered scenes. Hopefully there's more to come! 5. All Things Fin - Worked Fin's absence from most of the action has been a problem for Law & Order: SVU for several years. Season 20 has seen more of Fin than the last four seasons combined but it's still not enough. Here's hoping for a lot more Fin stories! 6. Heartwrenching Stories - Worked SVU's stories aren't just ripped from the headlines -- they tear at our heartstrings. Season 20 has already had plenty of emotional moments. Most noteworthy was Law & Order: Season 20 Episode 3 ("Zero Tolerance"), featuring a little girl who had been separated from her mother during an illegal border crossing. More of this please! The Resident Promo: Hunter’s Prey!

Evil never dies. In this case, evil never stays behind bars for too long. That's right, Melina Kanakaredes is back as the loathsome Lane on The Resident Season 2 Episode 10! She is far from contrite and right back to her manipulative ways as she gets her talons into Bell all over again. Bell has not only paid Lane's bail, but he also got her released from prison. As you can imagine, everyone is pissed! None more than the loved ones of Lane's many victims. The outrage should be unparalleled. Related: The Resident Season 2 Episode 9 Review: The Dance I can't imagine what Nic, Conrad and the others at Chastain will think with this news. She wouldn't dare show her face at the hospital, would she?! I wouldn't put it past her, that's for sure! Lane has always been Bell's weakness, and that doesn't appear to have changed in this clip. He is second-guessing himself and sounds explosive, but to who? The obvious choice is Conrad as the two of them rarely see eye-to-eye, but Bell is liable to snap at anyone if Lane is getting into his head and toying with him. Elsewhere, Devon may or may not be reeling from his broken engagement on his wedding day, but he is concerned for Julian when he doesn't hear from her. Devon, but why though? Ahem, sorry about that. Where was I? Oh, yes, Devon is super concerned about Julian when he doesn't hear from her. Yikes! Does that mean Julian doesn't survive her ordeal? Is she still hidden out of sight after being run off the road by Gordon's QuoVadis hitman henchman? Meanwhile, you know that mysterious guy who must have hit every beauty pocket when he descended from heaven? He's a dreamy doctor Nic is eying to run the new clinic.
